Roofing is hard to insure. We know where to place it.
Roofing is one of the hardest trades to insure: falls make workers' comp expensive, and many insurance companies don't write roofers at all or limit the work they'll cover. As an independent agency we know which companies do, and we explain the policy in Spanish or English before you sign.
What roofers usually need
- General liability written for roofing work — damage to the home or to a neighbor's property
- Workers' comp for your crew, or the subcontractor certificates that protect you if you don't have employees
- Tools and equipment (inland marine) — ladders, nail guns, compressors, in the truck or on the roof
- Commercial auto for work trucks and trailers
- Commercial umbrella when a builder's contract asks for higher limits
- Certificates of insurance with additional insured and waiver of subrogation when the contract requires them
Business owner with an ITIN or a matrícula consular?
- We insure business owners who have an ITIN or a matrícula consular
- Tell us how your business is set up when you ask for a quote, and a licensed agent will explain your options
- Everything explained in Spanish or English
Tell us exactly what work you do — residential or commercial, shingle, metal or flat roofs, how many stories, and whether you use torches or hot tar. Many policies limit some of these, and the right answer depends on it.
