What does auto insurance need to include in North Carolina?
Every registered vehicle in North Carolina must carry liability insurance without a gap. Since July 1, 2025, new and renewed policies need at least $50,000 per person and $100,000 per accident for injuries and $50,000 for property damage (50/100/50), plus uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage.
